Noted filmmaker Gias Uddin Selim returns to Chorki with the flash fiction romantic comedy movie “Perfect Wife.”

Inspired by Fredrik Logevall’s acclaimed biography “JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917–1956,” the show traces the Kennedy family’s ascent through power, politics, and personal tragedy. Set in the 1930s, its first season follows Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children — including a young Jack Kennedy — as they navigate ambition, rivalry, and legacy in a rapidly changing America.

The festival will open on Thursday evening with “Kangaler Joto Kotha”, a special presentation featuring songs, poems, and plays written by Kheyali’s founder AKA Kabir. The second day will feature the troupe’s musical and dance drama “Manush Hobo”, which explores themes of humanity, compassion, and social consciousness.

Currently, he is working on a lineup of new songs — some featuring other artistes, and some sung by himself. Among his upcoming tracks are “Megheder Bheshe Jawa” (written by Abdullah Al Imran) and “Mon Khujhe Prem Nebo” (written by Autumnal Moon), both composed and arranged by Shuvo.

The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between veteran actor Bapparaj and young actress Dighi.

Inspired by a short story by acclaimed writer Shahidul Zahir, the screenplay and dialogue for “Darkaak” (RAVEN) were written by Zayed Siddiki himself.

Professionally, Parineeti was last seen in “Amar Singh Chamkila” (2024), opposite Diljit Dosanjh, who portrayed the titular Punjabi singer. The musical drama depicted the tragic love story of Chamkila and his wife, Amarjot Kaur, and also featured Apinderdeep Singh, Anjum Batra, Nisha Bano, and Kumud Mishra. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
