Filmmakers eye 16 releases this Eid
The country’s film industry traditionally sees renewed momentum during the two Eid festivals each year. While interest in theatrical releases often remains subdued for the rest of the year, filmmakers typically rush to secure Eid slots. This trend has continued for several years. Last year, six films were released during each Eid, totalling 12. This time, however, the number may surpass that figure during Eid-ul-Fitr alone, with as many as 16 films currently aiming for release. Despite Ramadan having begun, promotional campaigns for most of these films have yet to start.
