“Atal” is the first full-length production from Shamim’s own production company, Darbar Sharif. He wrote, directed, produced and edited the film. Nayeem Tusher plays the lead role and also served as the cinematographer.

With “Limbo”, his upcoming cosmic romance and space film envisioned through CGI, VFX and animation, Angshu wants to capture the wonder of space without severing the story from its earthly roots – the socio-cultural world of Bangladeshi people.

A new film titled “Mon Pakhi”, centred on the lives, relationships, struggles and realities of the indigenous Santal community, is currently in production.

For now, her work and family take up most of her time. “I have to give a lot of time to my office, and I love my work. Outside the office, I spend lovely moments with my sister’s child. My parents are at home, and I spend time with them. That is all I can say — I am doing well.”

A week-long film festival began at Modhumita Cinema Hall in the capital on Saturday (August 22), as part of the Dhaka South City Corporation’s (DSCC) month-long “Hridoye Dhaka 416” celebrations marking 416 years of Dhaka.
