Taylor Swift’s ‘Patient Zero’ debuts at No 1 on Billboard global charts
Taylor Swift has debuted at No 1 on both of Billboard’s global song charts with “Patient Zero”, adding another milestone to her chart record.
The track tops the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US charts for the week dated October 10, 2026. It marks Swift’s eighth No 1 on the Global 200, tying her with BTS for the most chart-toppers since the ranking was launched in 2020.
On the Global Excl. US chart, “Patient Zero” becomes Swift’s fifth No 1, moving her ahead of Bad Bunny and Ariana Grande among solo artistes. BTS leads all acts with eight.
“Patient Zero” is one of four additional tracks featured on the deluxe edition of Swift’s 2025 album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, titled “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore”. The other three tracks — “Cleveland!”, “Babylon” and “Pink Clouding” — also entered the top 10 of both global charts.
According to Luminate data cited by Billboard, “Patient Zero” drew 70.7 million streams and sold 80,000 copies worldwide during the September 25-October 1 tracking period.
Its music video, directed by Swift and featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, premiered during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27.
The other three new tracks also made strong debuts on the Global 200, with “Cleveland!” entering at No 2, “Babylon” at No 3 and “Pink Clouding” at No 5. The results bring Swift’s total number of Global 200 top-10 entries to 47, surpassing Drake’s previous record of 45.
Meanwhile, an earlier track from “The Life of a Showgirl”, “The Fate of Ophelia”, climbed to No 8 on the Global 200 after previously spending seven weeks at No 1. It also rose to No 10 on the Global Excl. US chart.
All four new tracks landed inside the Global Excl. US top 10, with “Patient Zero” at No 1, “Cleveland!” at No 6, “Pink Clouding” at No 7 and “Babylon” at No 8. Swift now has 34 top-10 entries on the chart, extending her record ahead of Bad Bunny’s 24.
The chart success follows “The Life of a Showgirl” returning to No 1 on the Billboard 200 for a 13th non-consecutive week following the release of “The Encore” edition.
Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts rank songs based on streaming and download sales across more than 200 territories. The Global 200 includes activity in the US, while the Global Excl. US chart measures activity outside the country, with data compiled by Luminate.
