‘Tere Bin’ star Wahaj Ali spotted in Dhaka with Nusraat Faria
Pakistani actor Wahaj Ali, best known to South Asian audiences for playing Murtasim Khan in the hit drama “Tere Bin”, was recently spotted in Dhaka alongside Bangladeshi actor Nusraat Faria.
Wahaj travelled to Bangladesh to attend the closing programme of “Emira: The Wedding Chapter”, a two-day wedding and lifestyle exhibition held at the United Convention Centre in Dhaka on October 2 and 3. The actor had announced his visit in a video message, saying he was looking forward to meeting his Bangladeshi fans. Organisers described him as a personal guest at the event.
During the event, Wahaj and Faria appeared together at one of the fashion presentations. Faria later shared photographs of the two on Facebook, writing that she had walked in a Jamdani-inspired outfit and was happy to represent the country’s heritage.
Faria wore a deep purple strapless lehenga-choli featuring Jamdani motifs, accessorised with a tikli, statement necklace, jhumkas and gold bangles. Wahaj, meanwhile, opted for a dark blue formal suit paired with a matching shirt. Photographs of the two actors subsequently circulated widely on social media.
Wahaj’s appearance in Dhaka generated considerable interest among fans, particularly because of his popularity in Bangladesh following the success of “Tere Bin”. The drama, which premiered in 2022, featured Wahaj opposite Yumna Zaidi and became widely popular beyond Pakistan, including among audiences in Bangladesh and India.
Wahaj began his television acting career as a lead in “Ishq Ibadat” in 2015. He subsequently appeared in dramas including “Dil Nawaz”, “Fitoor” and “Ishq Jalebi”, among others. He also played Bangladeshi freedom fighter Shafi Imam Rumi in the 2021 historical drama “Jo Bichar Gaye”.
His breakthrough with international audiences came with “Tere Bin”, in which he portrayed Murtasim Khan opposite Yumna Zaidi’s Meerab. The drama’s popularity established Wahaj as one of the more recognisable Pakistani television actors among viewers across South Asia.
For Faria, the Dhaka appearance comes amid her ongoing work in Bangladeshi cinema and television. Her photograph with Wahaj has since prompted fans to speculate about a possible collaboration between the two actors, although no such project has been announced.
