The release of several Bengali films has been postponed following the tragic incident at Kolkata’s RG Kar. Industry insiders reveal that many are hesitant to kickstart promotions for Puja-special releases under these circumstances. 

Actress Mahiya Mahi was one such individual caught in this rigorous security net, where she was detained and questioned for nearly an hour and a half. Mahi herself shared this experience in a video message on Facebook.

The aftermath of the incident led to the postponement of several Bengali film releases. Chanchal Chowdhury starrer “Padatik” and Subhashree Ganguly starrer “Babli” were released on August 15.
