Cut business hurdles, simplify services: Muktadir
Administrative hurdles should be reduced, and government services made simpler to make business and investment easier, faster and more efficient, Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir said yesterday.
He made the remarks at a meeting on simplifying business processes at the Ministry of Commerce in Dhaka.
Commerce Secretary Md Ataur Rahman Khan, along with senior officials from the ministry, the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, Invest Bangladesh and other relevant agencies, attended the meeting, which was chaired by the minister.
The meeting reviewed existing procedures for business registration, obtaining necessary approvals and accessing government services.
Participants discussed ways to remove unnecessary steps and reduce processing times so that entrepreneurs and investors can access services more easily and efficiently.
Muktadir said cutting administrative hurdles and delays would help create new entrepreneurs and encourage both domestic and foreign investment.
He stressed the need for better coordination among government agencies and called for simpler, more user-friendly services.
The minister also called for gradually bringing business- and investment-related services under an integrated digital system to improve transparency, efficiency and accountability.
The meeting also reviewed bottlenecks faced by agencies involved in simplifying business processes and discussed possible measures to improve service delivery.
