A special screening of the much-anticipated film "Rockstar" was held yesterday, attended by lead actor Shakib Khan, the film's cast and crew, director Azman Rusho, and members of the media.

Director Himel Ashraf is set to reunite with actor Shakib Khan for a new film, marking their third collaboration following “Priyotoma” and “Rajkumar”.

Ever since groundbreaking films like “Toofan” and “Borbaad”, my expectations for new Shakib Khan releases have naturally heightened. Intrigued by the hype, I didn't hesitate to buy tickets for this Azman Rusho directorial to see it for myself.

"Rockstar" is set to make its international debut beyond Bangladesh. Starring megastar Shakib Khan, the film will be screened in 41 theatres across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom starting June 5.

According to exhibitors, the Eid lineup includes “Rockstar”, “Roid”, “Bonolota Sen”, “Malik”, “Masud Rana”, “Pinik”, “Officer” and “Tosnos”, with theatre allocations spread across major cinema chains nationwide.

This Eid-ul-Azha, “Rockstar” is running in 103 cinemas across the country. At Star Cineplex, the film had 18 shows on its opening day, which increased to 36 shows the following day. Directed by Azman Rusho, Sabila Nur plays the character of Mira in “Rockstar,” with audiences praising her chemistry with Shakib Khan.

Since its release during Eid, director Abu Hayat Mahmud’s film “Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka” has remained at the centre of controversy.

Directed by Azman Rusho, “Rockstar” stars Sabila Nur, Tangia Methila, and Tariq Anam Khan among others. The film has been produced by Anjan Chowdhury Pintu under the banner of Sun Motion Pictures.

The highlight of the schedule is the television premiere of “Domm”, directed by Raihan Rafi, airing on Eid night at 9:00pm. The film stars Afran Nisho and Puja Chery in lead roles.

The makers of “Rockstar” have finally unveiled the film’s first song, “Piriti”, featuring vocals by Pantho Kanai. The peppy track offers audiences a glimpse into the troubled world of Shakib Khan’s character in the much-anticipated film.

Directed by Azman Rusho, “Rockstar” features Shakib Khan in the role of a professional musician rather than the action-driven characters often associated with the actor. For the role, he reportedly underwent a significant physical transformation and weight loss.

The Bangladesh Film Certification Board has suspended the certification of Shakib Khan starrer “Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka” over allegations of adding unauthorised scenes and songs after receiving approval.

Following Eid-ul-Fitr, when five films—“Bonolota Express”, “Domm”, “Prince”, “Pressure Cooker”, and “Rakkhosh”—were released, focus has now shifted to the next major holiday window. Among them, “Bonolota Express” is still holding the top position, while others recorded moderate commercial returns and some overseas response.
