Eight Eid films roll out across cinema halls

Eight new films are competing for audience attention this Eid-ul-Azha, offering a mix of star-driven commercial entertainers, literary adaptations and filmmaker-led productions.

Alongside the festive rush at multiplexes and single-screen theatres, the season has also brought a noticeable influx of younger viewers back to cinema halls.

According to exhibitors, the Eid lineup includes “Rockstar”, “Roid”, “Bonolota Sen”, “Malik”, “Masud Rana”, “Pinik”, “Officer” and “Tosnos”, with theatre allocations spread across major cinema chains nationwide.

Among the releases, “Rockstar”, directed by Azman Rusho and starring Shakib Khan, has secured the widest release, opening in 103 theatres across the country. The romantic-musical also leads screenings at major exhibition chains, including Star Cineplex. 

At Star Cineplex, “Rockstar” is currently running with 35 shows across its nine branches. “Roid”, directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon and starring Mostafizur Noor Imran and Nazifa Tushi, follows with 18 shows. “Bonolota Sen”, directed by Masud Hasan Ujjal, and “Malik”, directed by Saif Chandan are each screened in 10 shows. 

Seven of the eight Eid releases are currently being screened at Star Cineplex, with “Tosnos” the only title absent from its lineup, according to the exhibitor’s schedule cited in the source material.

At Blockbuster Cinemas, six of the Eid releases are being screened, with “Pinik” and “Tosnos” excluded from the chain’s current schedule.

Lion Cinemas is showing “Rockstar”, “Roid”, “Malik”, “Masud Rana”, “Officer”, “Bonolota Sen” and “Pinik” as part of its Eid programming. Within the chain, “Rockstar” has received eight daily shows, while “Malik” is running in three. “Roid” and “Masud Rana” have secured two shows each, and “Bonolota Sen” and “Pinik” are screening once daily.
