Notifications say orders were issued ‘in the public interest’ and would take immediate effect
Star Online Report

Government has removed the secretaries of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Secondary and Higher Education Division, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs from their positions, according to three separate orders issued today by the Ministry of Public Administration.

Those relieved of duties are Saifullah Panna, secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office; Rehana Parveen, secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division; and Kamal Uddin, secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

All three were appointed during the interim government and have now been attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.

Officials said changes in key ministries and divisions were expected following the formation of the BNP‑led government, and this marks the beginning of that process.

The notifications, signed by Mohammad Rafiqul Haq, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, stated that the orders were issued “in the public interest” and would take immediate effect.
