ICT appoints two prosecutors, accepts resignation of another
The government has appointed two new prosecutors to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) while accepting the resignation of another.
According to a gazette notification issued today by the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Marjina Raihan (Madina) and Mohammad Zahirul Amin have been appointed as prosecutors with the status of deputy attorney general.
The notification stated that the appointments were made under the International Crimes Tribunal Act, 1973 to conduct cases before the tribunal and, will remain in effect until further orders.
The order came into effect immediately.
In a separate notification, the division confirmed that the resignation of prosecutor Md Saimum Reza Talukder had been accepted, relieving him of his duties.
Saimum had been appointed to the tribunal on October 7, 2024.
