Basir Jamal appointed Bangladesh Journalists’ Welfare Trust MD
Basir Jamal, senior vice-president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), has been appointed as the new managing director (MD) of the Bangladesh Journalists’ Welfare Trust.
Meanwhile, the appointment of former MD Muhammad Abdullah has been cancelled.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard today.
According to the announcement, under the Bangladesh Journalists’ Welfare Trust Act, 2014, Basir has been appointed on a contractual basis for one year from the date of joining.
As a condition of his appointment, Basir must sever all professional ties with other institutions and organisations.
