However, the Eid-special film “Toofan” and “Ajob Karkhana”, which premiered on July 12, are still being screened. Additionally, the new Hollywood film “Deadpool & Wolverine” premiered in several multiplexes, including Star Cineplex, yesterday. The third instalment to the Deadpool franchise had its international release on July 26.

Last Thursday, Universal Pictures studio announced that it has acquired the film rights to Britney Spears' best-selling memoir and is now working on developing a biographical movie about the pop star.

In support of the ongoing quota reform movement, artistes and performers from our diverse industries have been taking to the streets in various locations. However, today musicians in particular, are gearing up to make a significant impact in the music scene, inspired by the lyrics of Bob Marley's renowned song, "Get Up, Stand Up".

Showing solidarity with the nine-point demands of the anti-discrimination student movement, a diverse assembly of professionals from the film, television, theatre, and media sectors gathered for a protest rally yesterday morning at the Capital’s Farmgate intersection. Rapper Hannan Hossain Shimul, who recently released his rap about the quota reform movement, was arrested on July 25 by police officers. He was subsequently held on a two-day remand.

Eminent actor and cultural personality Tariq Anam Khan is observant of the ongoing turmoil regarding the quota protest movement that has turned into a massive nationwide protest, leaving more than 150 innocent students and citizens dead.
