Concord has completed PKSF Bhaban-2 and handed the building over to Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), adding another institutional project to its portfolio in Bangladesh.

Md Abdul Karim, chief financial officer of Concord Group of Companies, and Md Hasan Khaled, deputy managing director of PKSF, attended the handover ceremony held at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Agargaon, Dhaka recently, according to a press release.

Established by the government in 1990, PKSF is a leading development organisation that works to reduce poverty sustainably through employment generation. It works with disadvantaged communities, entrepreneurs and partner organisations across Bangladesh.

The new building will provide additional space for PKSF to carry out its activities and advance its development objectives.

The project adds to Concord’s portfolio of major institutional and nationally significant developments in Bangladesh.

Since its early years, Concord has undertaken several important public-sector projects, beginning with the reconstruction of war-damaged bridges and transport infrastructure after independence.

Its notable projects include the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, completed in 1982, the original passenger terminal and VVIP Terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and civil works for the airport’s Third Terminal.

The company has also built the National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur and prominent institutional buildings in Dhaka, including Bangladesh Shilpa Bank Bhaban, Jiban Bima Tower and Janata Bank Bhaban in Motijheel.

With the handover of PKSF Bhaban-2, Concord adds another institutional development to its portfolio, while PKSF gains additional facilities to support its work on poverty reduction, livelihoods and economic development.

Senior officials from both organisations were also present at the ceremony.
