Bangladesh have been drawn alongside England, co-hosts South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and a qualifying team in Group B of the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, with the draw taking place in Cape Town on Thursday.

Group A, meanwhile, brings together India, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and another qualifier.

The tournament, co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, will feature 14 teams. Eight teams have come directly by virtue of rankings while South Africa and Zimbabwe came as host nations.

The competition will begin with a Super Series, involving the three lowest-seeded teams among the 14 qualifiers. They will play each other in a round-robin format, with the top side advancing to the next stage.

The second stage will feature 12 teams, divided into two groups of six. Each team will play the others in its group.

Bangladesh will begin their campaign against England on October 8 in Windhoek, Namibia before they head to South Africa for their remaining Group B matches.

The Tigers will then face New Zealand in KuGompo City on October 12 before they take on Sri Lanka on October 16 in Durban.

Bangladesh will then face one of the co-hosts South Africa at the same venue on October 19 before they finish their group stage against Qualifier B in Tshwane on October 23.

Following the group stage, the top three teams from each group will progress, along with the best fourth-placed team across the two groups, creating a seven-team Super 7 stage.

The Super 7 stage will consist of 21 round-robin matches. The four highest-ranked teams will then advance to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, the team finishing first will face the fourth-placed side, while the second-placed team will meet the third-placed team.

The winners will advance to the World Cup final, where the 2027 champion will be crowned.
