Fire at Chawkbazar market under control

A fire that broke out at Hazi Abul Bashar Super Market in Chawkbazar area of Dhaka this afternoon has been brought under control.

The blaze originated on the third floor of the eight-storey building, according to a press release from the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

After receiving the report, firefighting units reached the scene at 1:46pm and started working to bring the fire under control. They put out the blaze around 3:15pm

There was no immediate information on the cause of the fire or any casualties.
