An unidentified biker taped a white envelope to a vehicle carrying BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman in Dhaka’s Gulshan late Wednesday night before fleeing.

The incident occurred around 11:45pm on road number 65 as Tarique was travelling in a bulletproof car from BNP’s Gulshan party office to his residence.

Police said the rider, on a Hero Hunk motorcycle, approached the convoy near Gulshan Society Park, taped the envelope to the car, and sped away.

The contents of the envelope could not be immediately confirmed.

Gulshan Police Station has filed a general diary in connection with the incident. Mohammad Rakibul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station, told The Daily Star that the motorcyclist could not be identified immediately.

“Police and other law enforcement agencies are working on the matter,” he said.
