Colours of autumn
The season of autumn stirs up many emotions in one's mind. As the scorching days of summer give way to milder, cooler days one feels calm and relaxed. Sepia-tinged memories make one's heart yearn for the days long gone at sunset as the steaming cup of Earl Grey grows cold on the tea table.

The exciting days of summer fade away, and the dying leaves leave trail for autumn to usher. Summer's bright days are steadily replaced with darker, moody ones and there is a hint of chill in the air. This distinct nip has a positive effect on our minds, as we Dhakaiites take to it like fish to water! A change in weather means subtle changes in one's wardrobe choices, as the cooler weather makes way for a whole host of festivities!

In the past, deep, dark colours used to rule the roost when it came to fall. All that has changed, as slightly bright colours are being favoured this year for autumn. There is a twist in this trend though; these bright shades lack the pop factor. Instead, they are moody and deep.

On the other hand, the darker colours have been given a bit of oomph by way of adding some sheen shine! Sweet shades such as pink, orange and yellow have been given a darker makeover reducing their obvious flash. This has resulted in a stunning array of shades that not only look elegant but incredibly autumnal.

Fabrics such as georgette, crepe de chine and silk look fabulous in these pretty, muted shades and will have you party-ready instantly. The other end of the colour spectrum has also gotten a much-needed transformation. Perennial fall favourites such as oxblood, navy, deep green and maroon have been brightened a few shades. This has resulted in a vibrant, jewel-toned colour palette which looks and feels opulent.

Marsala is the hot new shade to covet this fall. Its earthy, red-brown hue looks rick and is flattering on most skin tones. Grey is another eternal fall favourite. This year, choose a shade that is mellow and silvery, like an overcast sky. Other colours such as sage, amethyst, pale orchid and light oak are trending incredibly.

So before stepping out to do some much-needed shopping for the upcoming party season, keep this list in mind and keep a keen eye out to spot the perfect outfits!
