Covid-19 Update: 21 more die, positivity rate 3.43pc
Twenty-one people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday, said a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services.
The total number of deaths confirmed to be caused by the disease now stands at 27,531 and the death rate at 1.77 percent.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. At least 847 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,56,758, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 3.43 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.96 percent.
A total of 24,670 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.
At least 960 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,16,901 and the recovery rate at 97.88 percent.
Among the 21 deceased, 12 were men and nine were women. Of them, one was between 21 and 30 years old, two were between 31 and 40, two between 41 and 50, eight between 51 and 60 and eight above 60, added the release.
