Mehazabien-starrer ‘Saba’ secures double win at Meril-Prothom Alo Awards

Film “Saba”, starring Mehazabien Chowdhury, has won Best Film at the Meril-Prothom Alo Awards 2025, with the artiste also taking home Best Actress for her performance.The award was presented to her by actress Richi Solaiman and director Giasuddin Selim.

The film has drawn attention for its intimate, character-driven narrative, exploring themes of caregiving, emotional strain, and personal sacrifice. Mehazabien’s performance in the titular role has been widely praised for its depth and restraint.

“Saba” features Rokeya Prachy and Mostafa Monwar in key roles alongside Mehazabien, contributing to the film’s layered storytelling.  

Directed by Maksud Hossain, the film marks his debut feature and has been recognised at multiple international festivals, further establishing its critical acclaim.
