Dighi-starrer ‘Biday’ set to hit screens this Eid
Prarthana Fardin Dighi came back into the spotlight with the film “Jongli”, released during last year’s Eid. Continuing that momentum, she is set to return this upcoming Eid-ul-Azha with a new film titled “Biday”.
Directed by Mehedi Hassan Ridoy, the film has been in the spotlight since the start of its production. Filming began in Sunamganj in October last year, with plans to wrap up by Eid-ul-Fitr this year. However, as work could not be completed within the scheduled time, the release was postponed. During the same period, the director was also busy with another project, “Rakkhosh”, which was released this Eid.
According to those involved, the release of “Biday” during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha is almost certain. The remaining portions of the film are expected to begin shooting very soon.
Speaking about the film, Dighi said, “Some important scenes are still left to be shot in Malaysia. Additionally, a song is yet to be completed. The schedule will be finalised very soon. The film is based on a remarkable story—something we don’t often see in our industry.”
It has been learned that “Biday” does not have a single conventional lead hero; rather, the story itself takes centre stage. Alongside Dighi, the film also stars Bapparaj, Faruque Ahmed, and Fazlur Rahman Babu.
Sharing her expectations, Dighi said, “‘Biday’ is a story that is not just meant to be watched, but remembered. It blends emotion with realism, offering many moments that audiences can relate to their own lives. I believe the story will stay with viewers even after they leave the theatre. It’s a film that can be enjoyed with the whole family.”
The film’s producer added, “Many people ask who the hero of our film is. I would say, the story itself is the hero. It’s a humane and awareness-driven narrative, suitable for family viewing.”
Alongside “Biday”, Dighi is also busy with another project. She has already completed shooting for a web film directed by Sumon Dhar, which is also likely to be released during Eid-ul-Azha.
