James, Hasan among major acts at upcoming Dhaka rock concert

Two prominent figures in Bangladesh’s band music scene, Nagar Baul James and Ark’s Hasan, are set to perform on the same stage after a long time, bringing back memories of the country’s rock music scene of the 1990s.

The two musicians, whose songs have remained popular among listeners since the 1990s, will perform at “Rock N Rhythm 5.0: No Limits in the Zone” on Friday, October 23, at Carnival Arena in Jamuna Future Park, Dhaka.

Alongside James and Hasan, the concert will feature several prominent bands and musicians from Bangladesh’s rock scene.

According to organiser Adventor Communications, the lineup includes Nagar Baul, Ark, Warfaze, Aurthohin and Shunno. Guitarist Oni Hasan will make a special appearance with Warfaze and will also deliver a solo performance. AK Rahul is also scheduled to perform.

The organisers confirmed that all necessary administrative permissions for the concert have been secured.

Early-bird tickets went on sale on Monday through the website Tickify.live, priced at Tk 999.

Adventor Communications has been organising the Rock N Rhythm concert series since 2022, bringing together musicians and audiences from Bangladesh’s rock and metal music scenes.

The first edition took place in 2022, followed by the second and third editions in 2023 and the fourth in 2024.

Following the previous editions, the organisers are preparing to stage the fifth concert on a larger scale.

They hope the October 23 event will bring together the nostalgia of 1990s Bangladeshi rock and performances by established musicians, offering audiences an evening of live music.
