Symphony & realme topped in Bangladesh in 2021: Counterpoint Report

realme topped in the smartphone market with a 17% market share while Symphony propelled itself to the top position in the overall handset market in 2021 after a brief hiatus. This information surfaced from a recently published report by Counterpoint, a global research firm focusing on technology, media and telecom industry,

According to the report, Symphony held the highest overall market share with 22%. 

Smartphone, thanks to the advent of 4G has seen an 11% market growth in 2021 compared to 2020, says the report. 

In the smartphone market of 2021, local brand Walton had the 2nd highest market share with 14.1%  while Chinese brand Xiaomi trailed slightly behind in 3rd position with 13.6% market share.

Symphony and Samsung had a neck to neck competition for respectively being the 4th and 5th in the smartphone market. 

The report also states that Bangladesh's overall handset market declined 11% YoY in 2021 particularly feature phone shipments declined 24% YoY in 2021 and contributed 54% of the overall handset market.
