Freedom fighters, lawmakers, writers, media personalities and members of civil society graced the final day of The Daily Star’s two-day 35th anniversary celebrations yesterday. They visited an exhibition showcasing the scars left behind by the attack on the institution on the night of December 18, 2025, before attending the main programme on the eighth floor. The Daily Star Editor and Publisher Mahfuz Anam received a crest from his fellow freedom fighters in honour of his contributions during the Liberation War. Presenting the honour were (from left) M Abdul Majed, Maj M Abul Hossain (Dr), Col M Aminul Islam, Maj M Atiqur Rahman, Maj Gen Jamil D Ahsan, BP, Lt Col M Zainul Abedin, Maj Gen Jiban Kanai Das, and Brig Gen Miran Hamidur Rahman. The closing programme brought together voices from across generations and institutions, marking the occasion with tributes and reflections.
