5 former SUST students detained
Students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology’s (SUST) have been protesting since January 13, demanding the resignation of the provost of Begum Sirajunnesa Chowdhury Hall. Following police action on January 16, the students' protests evolved into a demand for the vice-chancellor's resignation. Today, the Criminal Investigation Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has handed over five former students of the university, whom they picked up earlier, to Sylhet police.
