Selling cheap phones online: A new deception tactic?

A fraudulent gang set up a trap by placing ads in social media. Falling into this trap, about 1,500 people from Dhaka and nearby areas lost a total of Tk 1.6 crore. Another group of con artists swindled lakhs from people by luring them with offers of cheap mobile phones at Muktagachha, Mymensingh.
