At the end of 1971, knowing the sure defeat, the Pakistani occupation forces started reckless killing throughout the country.

Only a few days before the independence of Bangladesh, on December 1st, the Pakistani army with the help of their collaborators launched a surprise attack on Nazirpur village near Pabna town. About 64 people were martyred in the attack.
