'Myanmar junta is attacking people knowing defeat is certain'

Myanmar's junta government is withdrawing troops from northern Rakhine state after failing on the battlefield. At the same time, they are intensifying attacks on civilians in the southern part of the state. They are taking such steps after realizing that they are going to lose this westernmost state of Myanmar.

The Arakan Army, a rebel group in exile in Thailand, told these to Myanmar's Irrawaddy news outlet.
