3 killed, 9 injured in bus-motorcycle collision in Ctg’s Fatikchhari

At least three people were killed and nine injured in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram this evening.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately, said police.

The incident took place around 5:30pm on the Chattogram-Khagrachhari highway in the Pelagazi Dighi area, according to police.

One person died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital, police and doctors confirmed.

Officer-in-Charge of Fatikchhari Model Police Station Mohammad Selim said the accident happened when a Chattogram-bound bus from Khagrachhari collided with an oncoming motorcycle.

Dr Monoj Chowdhury, residential medical officer of Fatikchhari Upazila Health Complex, said four injured are currently undergoing treatment at the health complex, while five others were given primary treatment and later referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Nazirhat Highway Police Station Shahabuddin told The Daily Star, “The bus and the motorcycle have been seized, and further investigation is underway,” he added.
