Smartphone expo kicks off today

For the first time in the country, a three-day fair for smartphones and tablets 'Smartphone Expo 2013' is starting from today at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital. At a press conference Expo Maker, organiser of the fair, said Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu was expected to inaugurate the fair. Biplob G Rahul, coordinator of the event, said smartphones, tablets and accessories of all the brands including Samsung, Symphony, Asus, Apple, Nokia and HTC would be available at the fair. Mobile application developers will also be showcasing their products at the fair. Organisers said entry is free for the visitors since it is the first time such fair is taking place. The exhibition will be open from 10am to 8pm. Twenty four companies are participating at the fair with seven pavilions and seventeen stalls. Teketalk 3G is the platinum sponsor of the fair. Habibur Rahman, general manager of Teletalk's sells and marketing department at the press conference said they are participating at the fair as this fair is the perfect occasion to demonstrate the power of 3G technology to visitors. He said, “When a visitor will experience the 3G technology with a smaprtphone, it will be easier for him to take decision to buy the device as well as 3G connections.†He also hoped that there would be special offers from Teletalk at the fair.
