D.Net, a social enterprise, has taken necessary arrangements to replicate 'Infolady Model' countrywide. Infoladies are rural educated women entrepreneurs who provide essential information and services related to agriculture, adolescent and maternal health, education and other livelihood issues to rural disadvantaged people. It has been revealed by an assessment of D.Net that an Infolady can earn about BDT 12000-18000 every month from this profession. After conducting a series of action research since 2004, in 2010 D.Net decided to renovate the model into 'Franchise Model'. In order to facilitate a proper franchise approach, D.Net has already built up relationship with Bangladesh Bank for financing the Infoladies and Hubs (local tele-centres, usually assist Infoladies to run their operations). Recently 'Infolady Model' singed a tripartite financial agreement among D.Net, Fair Price International private Limited and National Bank Limited. Since then, D.Net has started the field operation to implement the 'Franchise Program' countrywide. In that connection, D.Net arranged a "Training of Trainers" (ToT) from July 16 - 17, 2012 at YWCA, at Mohammadpur in Dhaka. About 13 representatives of 11 partner organisations, who are going to replicate this model in their respective areas, participated the training. The objective of organising this training is to provide training on traits of a good trainer, Infolady Model, Infolady and HUB Selection criteria and processes, training need assessment of Infolady and HUB, assessment of technical skills of Infolady and HUB, Infolady and HUB team building and management strategy, communication strategy, Infolady's role in empowerment of citizens through Right to Information Act 2009 etc. The training session also aimed at train trainers in order to form a trainers' pool that will provide training on Infolady Model. Dr. Ananya Raihan, Executive Director of D.Net was present in the opening session of the training. He also facilitated the session on 'The Qualities of a Good Trainer'. He expects that by participating in the training sessions, the participants will gain the insights of the model and will be able to contribute their best in replicating the model countrywide.
