Robberies in Noakhali, Bhola, ten injured
Robbers looted a market in Noakhali and a house in Bhola on Tuesday night.
They also injured ten people.
An armed gang looted Shelim Chairman Bazaar in Charbhata union under Shubarnachar upazila of Noakhali on Tuesday night and injured seven people during the robbery.
General secretary of the bazaar committee, Dr Jainal, said the robbers, numbering 50/60, stormed into the bazaar at about 10:00 pm firing several bullets in the air, reports our correspondent.
They looted Tk 1.6 lakh in cash from three shops. Other valuables included 25 mobile sets worth several lakhs of taka, Dr. Jainal said.
During the robbery, they also assaulted Main Uddin Majhi, 30, Shamsuddin, 32, Md Liton, 28, Md Jasim Uddin, 25, Abul Kalam, 40 and Shafique Shadagar, 42, injuring them seriously.
In Bhola, robbers looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from a house in the district town Tuesday night, reports UNB.
Locals said, breaking open the door, a gang of armed robbers numbering 9/10 entered the house of Foysal Jamal at ward no. 8 and took the house members hostage at gunpoint.
The robbers at one stage stabbed Foysal, his wife Sonia and daughter Ritu indiscriminately as they tried to resist them.
Later, they looted gold ornaments, cash Tk 10,000 and other valuables worth Tk 2 lakh and fled the scene with the booties.
