2 more held on charge of killing Feni cloth trader

Two security guards of Islami Bank Ltd, Feni branch were arrested on Wednesday evening on charge of beating a cloth trader dead on Sunday. The arrestees are Abu Sayed, 50, of Khanepur village under Bagerhat and Shahadat Hossain, 24, of Bhallabpur under Chhagalnaiya upazila of the district. Police said the duo along with two other officials of the bank were produced before the district judicial magistrate's court yesterday praying for a five-day remand. Judicial Magistrate Md Emdad Ullah, however, set next Sunday for hearing on the remand prayer. Md Shahadat Hossain Titu, a cloth trader at F Rahman Market on Shaheed Shahidullah Kaiser Road in the town, was mercilessly beaten up on Sunday inside the bank over cheque forgery. He died on the following day. Elder brother of the deceased, Sirajul Islam, filed a murder case with Feni Model police station accusing 15 to 20 people including the bank's principal officer and branch manager on Sunday. Police arrested Md Shahid Ullah, vice president, and Abdur Rahim, principal officer, of the bank on the same day.
