The Waiting

Junan Nashit

Let him forget, in a million famines
I shall not forget, I shall not forget ever I forgot how to forget
How can I forget? You said, `Will you forget? On a distant journey?'
I said, even pain fails at times
And the white cloud is aware of that. When blue clouds lets out steam
Evening spreads its hair all around. Someone contemplates-
Where did time vanish?
In this tear-filled emptiness
Have you forgotten
Two paths were filled with shadows
And light
So many dawn, so many noons
Have dissolved in the night
The lips pressing the light of waiting
Now pours out in a rhythm! After a long while I notice
I am walking on a wrong track.
