The Wall

-Maleka Parveen

Again you came last night,
Making your presence felt
Like my very own breath,
Though I was suffocating,
As I couldn't see you.
An unseen wall as a bar
Was between us formidable. All my attempts to reach you
Failed because of that wall;
I could feel you moving
On the other side and
I was dying hard
To contact those bright eyes
I was so obsessed about. After so many days, countless,
My eyes overflowed for you,
Would you ever know that?
No, it'll always be beyond
Your grasp only because of
That ominous unbreakable wall.
