National Film Awards 2023: ‘Sataao’ wins Best Film, Nisho Best Actor
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday announced the names of 30 films, artistes, and technicians across 28 categories through a gazette notification.
For their outstanding contributions to Bangladeshi cinema in 2023, lifetime achievement awards are being conferred on Tareque Masud and Abdul Latif Bachchu.
The film “Sataao” has been selected as Best Film, while its director, Khandaker Sumon, will receive the Best Director award.
Afran Nisho has won the Best Actor award for his performance in “Surongo”, while “Sataao” actress Aynun Putul has been named Best Actress.
Among the other notable winners, Monir Ahmed Shakeel will receive the Best Supporting Actor award for “Surongo”, and Nazia Haque Orsha has won Best Supporting Actress for “Ora 7 Jon”. Ashish Khandakar has been honoured as Best Actor/Actress in a Negative Role, while Shahiduzzaman Selim has won the award for Best Actor/Actress in a Comic Role. Mohammad Leon has been recognised as Best Child Artist.
In the music categories, Balam has won Best Male Singer for “Priyotoma”. Abanti Sithi has been named Best Female Singer for the song “Gaa Chuye Bolo” from “Surongo”. Shomeshwar Oli has received the Best Lyricist award for “Ishwar” from “Priyotoma”, while Prince Mahmud has won Best Composer for “Ishwar” from “Priyotoma”.
