Saswata Chatterjee is a renowned face in the Tollywood industry. He earned much accolades after donning the character of Bob Biswas in "Kahani".

In a recent interview with the media, the actor admitted that he will regret all his life for rejecting Karan Johar's film "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani".

However, he feels that the reason behind rejecting the role was even stronger than saying yes and failing. He emphasised on having clear communication with the directors and discussing the reason behind rejecting an offer.

Meanwhile, the role was ultimately played by another Kolkata actor Tota Roy Chowdhury who, to his best ability, nailed the role.

Playing Chandan Chatterjee in the film would have been a tough one for Saswata as he was uncomfortable and had no skills of Kathak dance, which Tota executed masterfully.

Moreover, Tota's classical dance skill has become one of the most talked about aspects from the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer project.

Saswata told Indian media, "It's my bad luck that I had to say 'no' to a Karan Johar film. This will always be the biggest regret of my life. But at the same time, you have to think about what you want. I think letting the makers know about what I can't do is much more important than readily saying yes to a project and then failing."

Besides his regret, he is happy for Tota for his mind blowing performance, who is a fellow of his from the same fraternity.

The Rs 178 crore budget film has so far earned Rs 230.16 crore at the Indian box office.

Meanwhile, Saswata Chatterjee is in talks with a Bengali web series "Abar Proloy" as the fierce cop Animesh Dutta. He will also be seen in a key role in Nag Aswin's mythology-inspired sci-fi film "Kalki 2898 AD".
