Just days after announcing his decision to step away from playback singing, Arijit Singh has briefly returned to the recording studio to lend his voice to an upcoming film titled "Ek Din" backed by Aamir Khan.

Aamir Khan Productions on Sunday (February 9) shared a photograph of Aamir Khan with the singer on its official Instagram page, thanking Arijit for his contribution to the film.

“Thank you, Arijit, for bringing so much heart to the music of 'Ek Din',” read the caption. The post also included a personal note from Aamir Khan, which said, “Thank you, Arijit, for lending your voice to our film 'Ek Din'. The four days spent with you, your family, and your team felt magical. Love, A.”

The post followed Aamir Khan’s recent four-day visit to Arijit Singh’s hometown Jiaganj in Murshidabad, West Bengal—an interaction that had already generated considerable buzz among fans.

Directed by Sunil Pandey, "Ek Din" stars Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi and is expected to be released in May.

On January 27, Arijit Singh had announced his retirement from playback singing, clarifying that he would continue working on independent music. Last Sunday, he also performed at Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium with sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar and percussionist Bickram Ghosh.
