Kanak Chapa and Kangalini Sufia to be honoured at Channel i Music Awards

Celebrated musicians Kanak Chapa and Kangalini Sufia are set to be honoured at the 20th edition of the TMSS Channel-i Music Awards 2025, with Kanak Chapa receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and Kangalini Sufia being conferred a Special Honour.

The grand ceremony will take place on April 7 in the northern city of Bogra, at the open grounds of the five-star hotel and resort Momo Inn Park & Resort. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of Bangladesh’s rich musical heritage.

Project Director Raju Alim confirmed the honours, adding that awards will also be presented across 18 categories, recognising excellence in various facets of the music industry.



The star-studded evening will be attended by prominent cultural figures, including Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Ltd. and Channel i; Shykh Seraj, Director and Head of News at Channel i; and Hosne Ara Begum, Founder and Executive Director of TMSS.

The musical gala will also bring together some of the country’s most revered and popular artistes, including Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Afzal Hossain, Khurshid Alam, Rafiqul Alam, Kona, Zhilik, Imran Mahmudul, Liza and Luipa, among many others.

With a blend of legendary performers and contemporary stars, this year’s TMSS Channel i Music Awards is poised to be one of the most memorable celebrations of Bangladeshi music.
