Film Artistes Association election date announced

The election for the 2026–2028 term of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association is set to be held on July 3 at the BFDC.

The announcement came yesterday (May 18), during a meeting of the association’s executive committee.

Speaking to The Daily Star, the association’s President Misha Sawdagor said, “At the meeting, it was decided that the election for the new term of the Film Artistes Association will be held at BFDC on July 3. We hope the election will take place on schedule.”

In the upcoming election of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association, Bapparaj and Rumana Islam Mukti will contest from one panel for the posts of president and general secretary respectively. The opposing panel features Shiba Shanu and Joy Chowdhury.

The tenure of the panel led by Misha Sawdagor and Monowar Hossain Dipjol ended on April 24, 2026.
