Veteran actor and singer Fazlur Rahman Babu has sung the promotional song “Amay Bhashaili Re’’ for the upcoming film “Mastul”. The film is directed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman.

The song “Amay Bhashaili Re” is originally written by poet Jasim Uddin. The song has been newly arranged by musician Labik Kamal Gaurob. The new version has been recorded in Fazlur Rahman Babu’s voice.

The director said the film needed a river-based song for its promotion. He said they first thought about making a new song. But later they chose this classic song as it matched the story well. He also said Babu’s voice adds emotion and depth to the song.

“Mastul” is based on the lives of boatmen who live and work on vessels drifting along rivers. The cast includes Fazlur Rahman Babu, Deepak Suman, Aminur Rahman Mukul, Arif Hasan and Sifat Bonna, among others.

“Mastul” has been screened and praised at several international festivals, including the Moscow International Film Festival. It will be released in Bangladesh on July 17.
