Withdrawal of case against Tampaco factory owner demanded
A section of workers of Gazipur's Tampaco Foils Limited today demanded withdrawal of a case filed against the factory authorities over the recent fire incident in which 34 people had been killed.
Around a hundred employees and workers of the plastic packaging factory took part in the half-an-hour-long human chain programme near Ahsan Ullah Master Flyover on Tongi-Ghorashal road, reports our Gazipur correspondent.
Blaming Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited for September 10 fire incident, the workers holding banners and festoons wanted to know about the reason of the fire from the gas company.

Several workers of the factory including Jakir Hossain, Delwar Hossain, Liton and Mojibur Rahman, spoke on the occasion among others.
On September 11, Abdul Kader, the father of Jewel, one of the deceased factory workers, filed the case with Tongi Police Station against the Tampaco factory owner and seven others.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited on the following day formed a committee to probe into the reason of explosion followed by a massive blaze.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A number of probe committees are working to this end.
The death toll from the deadly fire rose to 34. At least eight people still remain missing and 50 others were injured in Tongi BSCIC industrial area of Gazipur.
