Wild elephant kills Sherpur woman

An old woman was killed in an elephant attack at Tawakucha village in Jhinaigati upazila early today.

Forest beat officer Ashraful Alam at Tawakucha said the elephant came down from the nearby hill and entered the house of Momena, 60, wife of late Fazal Haque, around 4:00am.

At one stage, the elephant trampled Momena to death.
