Water transport strike called off

Sunamganj Water Transport Workers' Co-operative Association called off their strike yesterday following a meeting between the district administration and leaders of the association.

Following the withdrawal of the strike all types of vessels started their operations.

The workers' association called the indefinite strike on November 10, protesting  extortion and attacks on its workers in Abua river.

Association General Secretary Mohammad Ali said they decided to postpone the strike following assurance from the district administration.
