‘Peace school’ branch shut in Rajshahi
Police today shut down a branch of Peace International School and College in Rajshahi city that was running under another name after government ordered all Peace schools shut.
Iftekhar Alam, assistant commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, led a team to the school and ordered authorities to shut it down at 3:00pm, reports our local correspondent.
"We did not find any valid approval for the school's operation and so asked the authority to shut down its activities," the AC said.
Peace International School and College in Rajshahi city changed its name to Legend Academy in late last month and was running its activities under the new name.
After the militancy issue came to limelight following a spate of attacks in July, Bangladesh government shut airing of Peace Television and ordered close of Peace schools in the country.
