National Service Programme for youths expanded
Bangladesh's cabinet today decided to expand "National Service Programme" in 64 upazilas across the country for youths' skill development through training.
The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Cabinet Secretary M Shafiul Alam told reporters after the weekly meet at the Secretariat.
The government first in 2010 launched the programme in 19 upazilas which later expanded in 37 upazila across the country, he said.
During the three-month training period, the youths will get Tk 100 per day. After competition of the training, the youths will get opportunity to get public services and earn Tk 200 per day.
The programme is being run by the ministry of youth and sports.
The fifth, sixth and seventh phase of the training will start from May, 2017.
