Derailment halts Dhaka-Sylhet train service

Rail communication between Dhaka and Sylhet remains suspended since this morning following derailment of a freight train in Shayestaganj upazila of Habiganj.
Two bogies of the Sylhet-bound train from Dhaka veered off the tracks around 11:30am, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports quoting Stationmaster of Sylhet Railway Station Mofazzal Hossain.
Dhaka-bound train "Parabat Express" that started from Sylhet got stuck at Srimongol station following the derailment, the stationmaster said.
The train service will resume after a relief train salvages the bogies, he said when this report was filed around 2:00pm.
