Charges pressed against Khadiza’s attacker
Police submitted charge sheet against suspended student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Badrul Alam in connection with the gruesome attack on Sylhet college girl Khadiza Akter Nargis on October 3.
Harun-ur Rashid, a sub-inspector of Shahparan Police Station, submitted the charge-sheet before the Additional Judicial Magistrate Court of Sylhet around 11:00am today, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Khadiza, a 2nd year Degree student of Sylhet Govt Women's College, was hacked by Badrul, who was Bangladesh Chhatra League leader of SUST unit.
Hearing the victim's screams, other students rescued Khadiza and caught Badrul from the spot and handed him over to police after giving him a good thrashing.

Khadiza was first taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital from where she was moved to Dhaka. She is now under treatment at the Square Hospitals.
