Call to protect sugar mill's land

Protesters at a meeting yesterday called upon all to observe a half-day hartal in Mohimaganj union today, demanding recovery of Rangpur Sugar Mill's land at Shahebganj cane farm.

Organised jointly by Sugar Mill's Sramik-Karmochari Union, Akh Chashi Samity and Mohimaganj Union Awami League, they brought out a procession that paraded the streets of Mohimaganj bazar. 

The demonstrators later held a meeting at the mill gate and threatened a tougher movement if their demand was not met soon.

The agitators blocked the Rangpur-Bogra highway for two hours at Gobindaganj on Saturday.
