Rights group Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) today condemned and expressed grave concern on the attack on minority Hindu community in Brahmanbaria.

In a statement released today, the rights group demanded the culprits to be brought to book and the compensation for the affected Hindu temples and families.

Around 150-200 people attacked at least five temples in Nasirnagar upazila and ransacked about a hundred houses yesterday – a hate attack believed to have started from a Facebook post that allegedly hurt religious sentiment of the Muslims.

Thus far, about 15 people were said to have been apprehended over the incident and two cases filed accusing 500 anonymous people with the police station concerned.
